Our Policies

Commitment to Safety, Environment, Integrity, and Quality.

Alcohol & Drug Policy

Alcohol, drugs, medications and other substances that affect each person and their driving ability have absolutely no place in traffic or in any workplace. Everyone who drives under the influence of alcohol or drugs is a life-threatening danger to themselves and others, just as situations in the workplace can arise that can be harmful to the person who is affected or people around them. The common denominator is that the preparations can cause fatigue, drowsiness, impaired attention, impaired ability and judgement, sleepiness or excitement.

Coming to their workplace and being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs will be considered by the company as if the person in question has an addiction problem and the occupational health service will be contacted to carry out an investigation and further discussion with the company management about status/further measures/rehabilitation. It is within the scope of the company's interests that underlying causes of abuse are investigated.

Nimes Transport does not under any circumstances accept that our vehicles are driven or any office task is carried out by someone who is under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication that affects the ability to drive or work. To prevent this from happening, we will:

  • Regularly check/inspect the alcohol locks in our trucks
  • Be aware of signs of abuse
  • Have a breathalyzer available for voluntary control in the driver's room in Malmö
  • Conduct random unannounced breathalyzer tests

Suspend all drivers who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol until the occupational health service/management has given their OK for continued duty.

In the event of rehabilitation, we will follow the occupational health care/insurance fund's guidelines to ensure that the person in question is given an opportunity to return.

Any employee who suspects that medication is being used that negatively affects driving ability must report this to their immediate supervisor.

Any medication that can be suspected of affecting the ability to drive must be reviewed by the occupational health service.

In case of suspicion of drug influence, Nimes will have a drug test performed.
